About the role


We are seeking an experienced, stakeholder savvy Data Analyst to join a rapid Discovery and Alpha phase within a critical government programme


This role requires an outcome focused approach. We need a collaborative problem solver who can engage directly with senior stakeholders, uncover business critical insights, and translate complex data into clear, actionable, outcome focussed deliverables.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Discovery: Map out existing data landscapes, identify data gaps, and evaluate data quality across legacy and emerging systems.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate workshops, challenge assumptions, and translate complex data concepts into clear business narratives for non-technical leadership.
  • Define Metrics & Benchmarks: Establish meaningful KPIs and baseline performance metrics to measure success entering the Beta phase.
  • Outcome-Led Analytics: Model data scenarios to validate early hypotheses and support user research and policy teams with evidence backed insights.
  • GDS / Outcome Alignment: Deliver clear data recommendations and artefacts aligned with GDS (Government Digital Service) Service Standards.


What We’re Looking For

  • Security Vetting: Basic BPSS required
  • Proven Government Experience: Previous experience operating in Discovery and Alpha phases within central or local government.
  • Strong Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills; confident in presenting to senior sponsors and navigating conflicting requirements.
  • Data Visualisation & Storytelling: Ability to turn raw data into intuitive visual dashboards, mapping journeys, and structured options frameworks.
  • Tooling Proficiency: Strong SQL and hands on experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or R/Python for exploratory data analysis
