QA Lead (Outside IR35) at Tact, Manchester Area, £Contract Rate

🚨 QA Lead Contract | Outside IR35 | Mainly Remote (Manchester, 4 days per month) | 6 Months+ 🚨 You will need to be based in the North West for this role (or nearby of course, within reason).

Want to lead a QA transformation rather than just maintain one?

You'll join a product-focused tech company in the FinTech sector, where quality is becoming a core part of engineering.

They're embedding QA throughout the SDLC, investing heavily in automation and giving someone the opportunity to shape how testing is done across the business.

This isn't a contract where you'll inherit mature processes and simply keep the lights on.

You'll mainly be hands-off (hands-on when needed), leading the QA function from a strategic point of view through a major transformation.

You'll introduce new tooling, improve engineering practices, help move and train the team from predominantly manual testing to modern automation, and work with senior leadership to educate them on the QA roadmap.

The tech stack is: mainly Playwright within a C#, .NET, JavaScript/Typescript house. Cloud and Azure DevOps (pipeline exposure is a plus)

✅ Experience you'll need:

• Experience leading QA teams
• QA strategy and hands-on testing experience
• Driving QA transformation and process improvements
• Automation experience and upskilling manual testers
• Embedding QA throughout the SDLC
• Experience with mission-critical backend systems (payments or fintech is a bonus)
• Experience using AI within testing
