Summary:

My market leading client are looking to secure the services of a contract-based business analyst to assist with critical project work over the coming months. Ideally coming from a consultancy background and experienced working with public sector deliveries, suitable consultants will need to be available to start within the next few weeks.

Due to the nature of the work involved, its essential that consultants are eligible for BPSS clearance and have knowledge from working on GDS assignments previously.

Key responsibilities:

• Elicit and analyse business, operational and organisational needs across routine, enhanced and severe incident response.
• Map current processes, user journeys, stakeholders, hand-offs, dependencies and information flows.
• Identify pain points, duplication, manual workarounds, failure demand, operational risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Define and prioritise use cases, requirements, assumptions and business rules.
• Support the assessment of technical feasibility, business viability and build, buy or reuse options.
• Contribute to the future service hypothesis, Alpha recommendation, roadmap, success measures and Discovery Report.
• Work collaboratively with the other Business Analyst, Product Manager, Service Designer, User Researcher and technical architecture team.

Essential experience:

• Significant Business Analysis experience within GDS Discovery phases or comparable complex transformation programmes.
• Strong process mapping, requirements elicitation, stakeholder analysis and workshop facilitation skills.
• Experience analysing end-to-end services spanning multiple teams, systems and operational processes.
• Ability to distinguish user needs, business requirements, constraints, assumptions and solution options.
• Strong written analytical skills, with experience producing clear evidence for senior decision-makers.
• Confidence working with operational, product, technical, data and governance stakeholders.
