Java Developer Team Lead at ASA INTERNATIONAL LIMITED T/A ASA RECRUITMENT, Edinburgh, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Edinburgh are currently looking to recruit a Java Developer Team Lead for an initial 6 month contract (with potential extensions) on a rate of up to £585/day outside of IR35 (based on experience). This role is mostly remote based with the occasional visit to the Edinburgh office.

The Role:

An experienced software engineer is required to provide hands-on technical leadership to an agile development team, and to act as a conduit between the development team and the Architecture Steering Group, helping to define and refine best practices, standards, and architectural principles.


Responsibilities:

Lead the development and support of the technical solutions that:

·Enhance the application pipeline to support improvements to the automation rates of Dispositions, Standard Securities, Discharges and Combos

·Enhance the Settle tooling to support the processing of ‘Partial’ dropouts from our Automated flows (Discharges, Standard Securities, Dispositions and Combos)

·Continued development of Settle UI and settle services to manage other deed types and functionality that continue to remove our reliance on legacy LRS

·Lead and help develop a Self Guided Web App that allows settling of deed types requiring changes to A, B, C or D section

·Support the design and introduction of functionality, based on the Self Guided Webapp, to allow settling of FRs

·Improve the resilience of our automation pipeline

·Support the move from onprem hosted databases to cloud managed solutions Requirement for technical lead services

Assist in the management, maintenance and currency of our services including:

·Maintain java currency by upgrading to latest LTS version when possible

·Upgrade rabbitmq

·Spring boot currency

Essential Experience:

·Java 11+

·Spring Boot microservices

·Spring security and OAuth2

·JavaScript UI frameworks, specifically React

·OpenShift

·RabbitMQ

·Elasticsearch

·Modern DevOps and CI/CD practices including deployment pipelines, Jenkins, and Docker

·Experience technically leading a high-performing, cross-functional development team

·Experience delivering high quality software collaboratively in high-performing, cross-functional development teams

·Developing within Digital First or GDS quality standards

·Using Test Driven Development (TDD) and Pair Programming to produce high quality, maintainable code

·Working in Agile delivery models

Desirable Experience:

·AWS Lambda, S3, Cloud Formation, Aurora/Postgres, API Gateway, CDK
