Senior QA Automation Engineer | Contract | Remote / Occasional office visit

£500 - £550 per day | Outside IR35 | ASAP Start | Initial 3 Months

We 're supporting a client delivering a large-scale digital platform and are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join an Agile delivery team.

This is a hands-on role focused on building and maintaining automated test frameworks, validating complex user journeys, and driving quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Skills Required

• Strong automation experience with Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Proven background as a QA Automation Engineer / SDET
• API testing experience (REST, request/response validation, payload assertions)
• Experience testing modern web applications, including multi-step user journeys
• Automation framework design and maintenance (POM, reusable utilities, fixtures)
• Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD and test management tooling
• Solid understanding of Agile delivery and software testing best practices
• Experience with cross-browser, accessibility, and non-functional testing

Nice to Have

• Next.js, React or .NET exposure
• Experience with event-driven architectures and workflow-based systems
• AI-assisted development/testing tools
• Testing complex, rules-driven or form-heavy applications

Contract: 3 months initially
Start: ASAP
Rate: £500 - £550 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
