Overview

We are seeking an experienced HCL BigFix Consultant/Solution Architect to join a long-term contract engagement. This is a fully remote opportunity for a specialist who can lead the complete life cycle of an enterprise HCL BigFix implementation, from technical pre-sales and solution demonstrations through to design, deployment, implementation and ongoing optimisation.

The initial engagement will involve working with a customer evaluating HCL BigFix as a replacement for their existing Ivanti endpoint management platform. The successful consultant will be responsible for delivering a detailed technical product demonstration, designing the proposed solution and leading a greenfield, on-premises implementation.

This role is ideal for a consultant who combines strong technical expertise with excellent customer-facing and solution architecture skills.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical discovery workshops with customers to understand business and technical requirements.
Deliver detailed technical demonstrations of HCL BigFix, showcasing platform capabilities, architecture and implementation best practices.
Design enterprise-scale HCL BigFix solutions for on-premises environments.
Lead end-to-end greenfield implementations from initial design through to production deployment.
Design and implement BigFix infrastructure, including Servers, Relays, Consoles and Endpoint Agents.
Implement endpoint agent deployment using Group Policy (GPO), Scripting, or other enterprise deployment methods.

Configure and optimise:
Patch Management
Software Distribution
Endpoint Management
Asset Management
Security & Compliance
Produce solution documentation, deployment guides and operational procedures.
Troubleshoot implementation and operational issues across enterprise environments.
Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer and post-deployment optimisation.

Project Environment
The initial project includes:

Evaluating HCL BigFix as a replacement for Ivanti
Delivering a technical deep-dive demonstration to customer stakeholders
Designing and implementing an on-premises BigFix environment
Initial deployment across approximately 150 endpoints, with planned growth to around 220 endpoints
Deploying BigFix agents using enterprise deployment methods such as Group Policy (GPO) or Scripting
Leading the implementation from design through to successful production rollout

Required Skills & Experience

Proven commercial experience implementing and administering HCL BigFix within enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of BigFix architecture and infrastructure.
Experience delivering enterprise endpoint management projects from solution design through implementation.

Endpoint Agents
Fixlets
Baselines
Experience deploying BigFix agents using GPO, PowerShell, Scripting or similar enterprise deployment methods.
Strong knowledge of:

Software Distribution
Asset Management
Security Compliance
Experience implementing on-premises enterprise infrastructure.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable Skills

Previous experience replacing or implementing endpoint management platforms such as Ivanti, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) or Tanium.
Pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
Windows Server administration.
PowerShell Scripting.
Linux endpoint management.
Experience within enterprise consultancy or professional services environments.
