MES Technical Project Manager - 6 months - Outside IR35 - Must be UK Based

We are seeking an experienced MES Technical Project Manager to lead large-scale Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Smart Factory transformation programmes for global manufacturing organisations.

Key accountabilities

• Lead end-to-end MES implementation programmes from initiation through to go-live and hypercare.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
• Own project governance including RAID management, reporting, steering committees, and executive updates.
• Lead cross-functional teams including Solution Architects, Developers, Infrastructure Teams, Automation Engineers, QA Teams, and Manufacturing stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership across MES architecture, solution design, integration, deployment, and troubleshooting activities.
• Drive implementation and rollout of GE Proficy MES solutions, including Plant Applications, Smart Factory, Historian, Tracker, Operations Hub, and Manufacturing Intelligence.
• Ensure MES solutions align with manufacturing processes, operational objectives, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Skills & experience

• 15+ years' experience delivering MES, Manufacturing IT, MOM, or Smart Factory transformation programmes.
• Proven experience managing large-scale MES implementations and global/multi-site rollouts.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of GE Proficy solutions, including:
  • GE Proficy Plant Applications
  • GE Proficy Smart Factory
  • Proficy Historian
  • Proficy Tracker
  • Manufacturing Intelligence
• Strong understanding of MES architecture, manufacturing processes, and shop-floor technologies.
