Cyber Security Consultant - OT Security (Outside IR35)

Location: Hybrid (UK with some onsite travel)
Sector: Utilities/Critical Infrastructure
Contract: Outside IR35
Duration: 6 months

We're supporting a leading Utilities & Critical Infrastructure organisation as they deliver a major cyber transformation programme. We're looking for an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to help shape the future of cyber resilience across a complex operational environment.

Working alongside senior cyber advisors, you'll play a key role in re-sequencing the organisation's cybersecurity roadmap, baselining the current security architecture and cyber maturity, and defining meaningful KPIs that will support long-term cyber improvement. You'll also help build capability within the client's internal cyber team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Re-sequence and optimise the cybersecurity roadmap.
  • Assess and baseline current security architecture and cyber maturity.
  • Develop and implement cyber performance KPIs.
  • Provide expertise across both IT and Operational Technology (OT) security.
  • Support knowledge transfer and capability development within the client team.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic cyber outcomes across a critical infrastructure environment.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 10 years' experience across IT Security and OT Security.
  • Previous experience working within a consultancy environment.
  • Experience within Utilities, Energy, Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) or other highly regulated sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • OT Security
    • OT Network Security
    • Endpoint & Network Security
    • Security Operations Centres (SOC), particularly detection
    • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
    • Privileged Access Management (PAM)
    • Active Directory Security
  • Strong operational security and security architecture experience.
  • Good understanding of UK cyber regulations, governance and industry best practice.
