Title: AWS Engineer (Contract)

Rate: Up to £450 Per Day- Outside IR35

Location: Bristol 3 days on site.

Role Summary

In response to strategic growth and expanding cloud initiatives, our Client is seeking to appoint a skilled AWS Engineer on a contract basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure, playing a pivotal part in maintaining the organisation's technological edge. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable AWS-based solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into cloud architectures
  • Manage and optimise cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and cost-efficiency
  • Automate deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
  • Monitor cloud environments and troubleshoot issues proactively
  • Participate in security reviews and compliance activities related to cloud infrastructure
  • Document architectures, processes, and best practices for future reference

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience configuring and managing AWS cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools (eg, Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Sound knowledge of networking, security best practices, and compliance standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Certification in AWS (eg, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Scripting languages (eg, Python, Bash)
  • Experience working within agile project frameworks
