bedigital have partnered with fast-growing UK technology business developing cutting-edge AI and cloud platforms that support government, defence and critical national infrastructure.
We're looking for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to join a highly capable engineering team responsible for building secure, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure that underpins a mission-critical software platform.
The Role
You'll be responsible for improving quality, reliability and confidence across the software development life cycle by designing and implementing scalable automated testing solutions.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining automated test frameworks
- Building end-to-end, integration and regression test suites
- Testing modern cloud-native applications and distributed systems
- Automating API, UI and integration testing
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and release automation
- Working closely with developers to improve test coverage and engineering quality
- Investigating complex defects across asynchronous and event-driven architectures
- Championing quality engineering and test automation best practice
Skills & Experience
We're interested in engineers with strong experience across several of the following:
Essential
- Active SC Clearance preferred, although candidates must at least be eligible.
- Test Automation Engineering or SDET experience
- Commercial TypeScript or JavaScript
- Playwright (preferred) or Cypress
- API testing
- REST services
- Modern CI/CD pipelines
- GitHub Actions or similar
- Docker
- Agile software delivery
Desirable
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
- AWS
- Kubernetes
- Event-driven or distributed systems
- Contract testing (Pact or similar)
- MongoDB
- Performance or load testing
- DevSecOps
- React applications
- Authentication and authorisation testing
- Highly regulated, government or defence environments
- Occasional travel may be required
- Strong potential for extension

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the programme:
- Active SC Clearance is highly desirable.
- Candidates who are eligible and willing to obtain SC Clearance will also be considered.

- Competitive day rate
