Information & Knowledge Management Specialist

12 month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Information & Knowledge Management Specialist to play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a robust information governance and knowledge management capability within a complex and highly regulated environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence how information, documentation, contracts, and knowledge assets are managed across the organisation, ensuring compliance, accessibility, and operational excellence.


The Role


As the Information & Knowledge Management Specialist, you will act as a key point of contact for information governance and knowledge management activities.

You will support the development and implementation of policies, processes, and standards that align with regulatory requirements and business needs.


Key Responsibilities


Ensure alignment between internal information management policies and external compliance requirements.

Advise stakeholders on knowledge management best practices and drive consistent adoption across the organisation.

Support the design, optimisation, and continuous improvement of document and contract management processes and governance frameworks.

Champion information lifecycle management, including creation, classification, storage, retention, archiving, and disposal.

Promote the use of structured repositories, metadata, and governance controls to improve information discoverability and traceability.

Collaborate with data, digital, and compliance teams to embed knowledge management principles into business processes and transformation initiatives.

Deliver training and guidance on information policies, SharePoint, and information management best practices.


Essential Skills & Experience


Proven experience in Information Management, Knowledge Management, or Information Governance within a large or regulated organisation.

Experience working enterprise-grade document management systems such as Sharepoint

Strong understanding of information governance frameworks, policies, and compliance requirements.

Experience managing document and contract lifecycles, including version control, approval workflows, and audit requirements.

Ability to engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills.


Desirable Skills & Experience


Experience within defence, aerospace, engineering, or other highly regulated sectors.

Knowledge of metadata structures, taxonomy design, and information classification models.

Experience supporting digital transformation, data governance, Lean or ITIL initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or a related discipline.

Due to the nature of the role candidates will require current SC clearance and operate a Hybrid Model
