Network & Security Consultant - 6 months - up to £700 per day Outside IR35 - Hybrid

Our client is looking for an experienced Network & Security Consultant reporting into the Head of Information Security where you will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive pre-migration assessment of Firewall and routing configurations within an existing data centre environment transitioning to a new location. You will work directly with EMEA Infrastructure and Networking team to review current rulebase and identify potential insecure or misaligned historic rules that may require revision prior to migration.

Key experience:-

  • Extensive experience with enterprise Firewall platforms, including:
    • PaloPalo Alto Networks
    • Check Point
    • Fortinet
    • Fortinet Cisco ASA ASA/Firepower

Strong expertise in:

  • Network segmentation and zoning strategies
  • Layer 3-7 traffic filtering and inspection
  • Routing protocols (BGP,BGP OSPF,OSPF static routing)

Proven experience in:

  • Data center migrations, transformations, or consolidations
  • Firewall rule auditing, clean-up, and optimisation

Deep understanding of:

  • 3-tier application architectures
  • Zero Trust security principles
  • Experience using Firewall policy analysis tools (manual or automated)
  • Strong analytical capability to assess complex environments and traffic patterns
