Technical Lead (.NET/Full Stack) | GDS | Outside IR35

Rate: c500/day Outside IR35
Location: Fully Remote (UK)
Contract: August 2026 - Late March 2027

We are supporting a consultancy partner delivering a public-facing digital service as it progresses from Private Beta into Public Beta.

We're looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to provide technical leadership whilst remaining actively involved in development. You'll play a key role in guiding a multidisciplinary team through Beta, ensuring delivery aligns with the GOV.UK Service Standard and Technology Code of Practice.

• Lead technical delivery of a public-facing digital service through Beta

• Provide hands-on development across the full stack

• Support successful GDS Beta Service Assessments

• Mentor developers and drive engineering best practice

• Work closely with Product, Delivery and Design colleagues

• Deliver secure, accessible cloud-hosted digital services

• Contribute to architecture, CI/CD and engineering standards

• Recent UK Government/GDS delivery experience

• Delivered a public-facing digital service through Beta within the last 3 years

• Experience supporting and passing a GDS Beta Service Assessment

• .NET 8/9

• ASP.NET Core Web APIs

• Next.js

• SQL Server

• Cloud-hosted application development

• CI/CD pipelines

• GOV.UK Service Standard

• Technology Code of Practice

• WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility

• Experience leading agile engineering teams
