Interim Strategic Projects Support (Fractional)

We're supporting a private equity-backed renewable energy business seeking an experienced Project Accountant / Strategic Projects individual to join on a fractional basis (3 days per week).

Working closely with the COO, you will play a pivotal role in driving a range of operational and finance focused projects and initiatives. This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys bringing structure, pace and accountability across a fast-growing, project focused, PE-backed environment.


The Role

  • Provide day-to-day support to the COO across a broad range of operational and strategic priorities.
  • Establish and manage project governance, timelines and reporting across integration, operational and finance initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations and the wider leadership team to ensure projects remain on track and key milestones are achieved.
  • Drive accountability across stakeholders, proactively identifying risks, dependencies and blockers.
  • Support the team with post-merger integration activities and reporting as required.
  • Coordinate business-wide workflows, ensuring priorities are aligned and execution remains focused.
  • Produce clear reporting and updates for the executive team and private equity stakeholders where required.


The Candidate

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work closely with C-suite executives.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills, with experience tracking project progress, risks and dependencies.
  • Proven ability to drive multiple projects to completion, coordinating dispersed teams.
  • Exposure to finance projects, operational change and business transformation initiatives.
  • Financially literate, with excellent reporting and presentation skills
  • Previous experience delivering post-merger integration programmes an advantage, but not essential.
  • A highly organised, delivery-focused approach with the ability to bring structure to a fast-paced environment.
