About the role:


Our client who provides leading edge software for the UK utilities sector is looking for a dynamic, flexible hands-on Business Analyst / Consultant who is multi-disciplinary, a great communicator and someone who can interact and manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.


The ideal candidate will be Midlands based and willing to visit clients across the UK (mainly England) and will either a consultancy background and has experience working in the utilities sector (ideally Power Distribution, or highly regulated markets such as Gas or Water).


The role is based in Warwickshire, and you will be expected in the office circa 2 days per week with the remaining 3 days working from home or on client sites as and when required.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand, analyse, and document business requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirements-gathering sessions across multiple business functions.
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts including: Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), User Stories, Gap Analyses and Impact Assessments
  • Analyse current and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the design and implementation of business and technology solutions.
  • Work closely with project managers, solution architects, developers, testers, and operational teams.
  • Assist with change management activities and business readiness planning.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure delivered solutions meet business objectives.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular progress updates.


Required Experience:


  • Experience within energy retail, distribution, transmission, water, or gas organisations.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and market frameworks.
  • Experience with smart metering, customer transformation, billing, asset management, or operational systems.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation, cloud migration, data, or system implementation projects.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as BCS Business Analysis, CBAP, Agile BA, or Prince2.
