Senior Data Engineer (HealthTech – Data Platform Engineering)

6-month rolling contract | Hybrid (1 day onsite per week) | Outside IR35



We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to join a fast-growing HealthTech company building a modern, cloud-native data platform. You’ll design and deliver scalable, production-grade data pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making across the business


This is a highly practical engineering role focused on integrating core operational systems into a Snowflake-based platform using Fivetran, Azure, and Python


What you'll Do:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT data pipelines across the platform
  • Implement and manage Fivetran connectors for key data sources
  • Build reliable integrations from Azure Cosmos DB and SQL Server into Snowflake
  • Develop Python-based ingestion and transformation workflows
  • Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and automated checks
  • Design and optimise data models for analytics and reporting
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve source data quality and structure
  • Build observability into pipelines (logging, alerting, failure recovery)
  • Optimise performance, reliability, and cost across data workflows
  • Contribute to Azure-based data platform architecture and best practices


What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience as a Data Engineer in cloud environments (5+ years preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Fivetran in production environments
  • Strong experience with Snowflake
  • Advanced Python and SQL skills
  • Experience integrating data from Cosmos DB and SQL Server
  • Strong understanding of ELT pipelines and modern data modelling
  • Experience working within Microsoft Azure data services
  • Experience supporting production data pipelines (monitoring, reliability, incident resolution)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
