Solution Architect - Banking/Fintech Experience

Location: Hybrid (London-based)

Contract Length: Initial 6 months

Rate: £650–£700 per day (Outside IR35)

A leading UK financial services organisation is seeking several experienced Solution Architects to support a major transformation programme. Working within a complex technology landscape, you'll help define architecture, drive technical decision-making, and ensure successful delivery across critical business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solution architectures for large-scale programmes.
• Provide architectural leadership across applications, integrations, APIs, and data platforms.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Drive architecture governance, standards, and best practices.
• Engage senior business and technology stakeholders.

Required Experience

• Strong Solution Architecture experience within financial services.
• Background in core banking, payments, lending, or digital banking environments.
• Expertise in:
• Distributed systems and microservices
• API and integration architecture
• Data architecture and data modelling
• Cloud-based solutions
• Ability to operate at both strategic and technical levels.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience within challenger banks, fintechs, or large-scale banking transformation programmes.
• Experience leading architecture teams and third-party suppliers.
