Business Data & Process Lead - R&D Pharma

Leading global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development, and commercialisation of prescription medicines for some of the world's most serious diseases.

The company will be powered by S/4HANA and a new Enterprise Resource Planning system which will be implemented across the organisation. We will be transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain, from bench to patient. The new system will be used by thousands of employees daily and will be central to most core business processes.

We are seeking a Business Data & Process Lead to support the Axial program. This role will work closely with GPPM, Finance, and Data Platform teams to define end-to-end business processes, data flows, and structured requirements. The goal is to ensure alignment between business needs and technical delivery, with a strong focus on data consistency, governance, and integration.

Typical Accountabilities:

  • Support the Global R&D deployment workstream, ensuring adherence to project timelines and objectives
  • Develop and maintain a clear roadmap addressing both immediate priorities and long-term goals.
  • Establish solid understanding of the technology landscape and analyse existing processes to identify the gaps and opportunities using previous working experience/knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (including GPPM, finance, IT and Axial teams) to capture their requirements and integrate them into the project scope, defining the relevant end-to-end business processes and data flows.
  • Translate business needs into clear, structured requirements for technical teams.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Considerable experience and exposure to business systems, data platforms (eg Snowflake), and those specific to R&D eg Planisware (PLANIT)
  • Experience in ERP transformation and Business Improvement, using SAP/experience in technical data roles
  • Strong business analysis experience and knowledge of analytics.
  • Ability to lead across geographies and cultures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline

This is a hybrid position which can either be remote or based in Cambridge. The rate is £580 per day outside of IR35 for an initial 12 months.
