Network Engineer - Contract - Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to lead the technical onboarding of a large-scale enterprise campus network forming part of a major mixed-use commercial development.

The environment comprises approximately 400 Switches and 850 wireless access points delivered by a third-party integrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical discovery, audit, validation, documentation and transition into operational support.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong Cisco enterprise networking expertise and the ability to work closely with operational teams to ensure a successful knowledge transfer into BAU support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical onboarding of a large enterprise campus network.
  • Conduct detailed network audits and technical discovery activities.
  • Validate existing network architecture, configuration and operational readiness.
  • Produce and update network documentation, topology diagrams and support documentation.
  • Review and document Cisco ISE policies, authentication methods and operational procedures.
  • Assess Cisco Prime monitoring and management configurations.
  • Support onboarding of wireless infrastructure including Cisco and Meraki technologies.
  • Identify technical risks, gaps and remediation activities.
  • Work closely with customer and operational support teams.
  • Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and technical training to BAU teams.
  • Support service acceptance and transition activities.
  • Participate in site surveys, walk-throughs and technical workshops.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong Cisco Enterprise Networking background.
  • Cisco ISE administration and operational experience.
  • Cisco Prime experience.
  • Meraki Wireless experience.
  • Campus LAN and WLAN environments.
  • Network auditing and discovery.
  • Documentation and operational handover.
  • Troubleshooting and network validation.

Desirable Skills:

  • Cisco DNA Centre.
  • Network Access Control (NAC).
  • Enterprise wireless design and operations.
  • Service transition experience.
  • Managed services onboarding experience.
  • Experience supporting large commercial property or campus environments.

  • Rate: £400 - £450 Day (Outside IR35)
