Senior Business Analyst / ERP Consultant.
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst / ERP Consultant to play a key role in a major ERP-led business transformation programme. The successful applicant will lead business analysis activity from initiation through to implementation and go-live, working closely with senior stakeholders, business teams, delivery partners and the selected ERP vendor.
This role will run in parallel with the vendor selection process and will require someone who can shape requirements, define future-state processes and provide ERP implementation expertise across finance, supply chain, sourcing and logistics.
The ideal candidate will have delivered multiple ERP implementations within a Big 4 consultancy environment and will be comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed levels.
About the Candidate:
This opportunity is best suited to a senior consultant who has operated in demanding client-facing environments and has a strong track record of delivering ERP transformation outcomes.
The successful candidate will be able to combine structured business analysis, ERP process knowledge and consultancy-style stakeholder engagement to help shape and deliver a critical programme of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business analysis activity across the ERP programme lifecycle, from initiation and discovery through to implementation and go-live.
- Work with senior stakeholders to understand business objectives, operating model impacts, pain points and transformation priorities.
- Take high-level business requirements and elaborate them into detailed, structured, low-level functional and process requirements.
- Document current-state and future-state processes, with particular focus on finance-related processes and cross-functional supply chain impacts.
- Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, technology teams, vendors and delivery partners.
- Support ERP vendor selection activity by helping define requirements, assessment criteria and business process expectations.
- Identify process gaps, risks, dependencies and opportunities for standardisation, automation and improved controls.
- Translate business needs into clear documentation that can be used by solution architects, functional consultants, developers, testers and implementation teams.
- Support the development of business cases, implementation plans, change impact assessments and readiness activities where required.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the client, bringing best practice insight from previous ERP and business transformation programmes.
Required Experience Must-Have Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ERP Consultant or Functional Consultant on large-scale ERP implementation programmes.
- Previous Big 4 consultancy experience is essential.
- Hands-on ERP implementation experience, ideally with SAP, NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Strong knowledge of finance processes, controls, reporting requirements and process design.
- Experience across supply chain, sourcing, procurement and logistics processes.
- Ability to convert high-level requirements into detailed low-level requirements and implementation-ready documentation.
- Experience documenting detailed future-state processes, particularly within finance-led transformation environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage confidently with senior business leaders and technical delivery teams.
- Strong workshop planning, facilitation and playback skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment with minimal supervision.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience supporting ERP vendor selection or system evaluation processes.
- Background in complex supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, retail, logistics or professional services environments.
- Experience working with third-party systems integrators and offshore or blended delivery teams.
- Knowledge of business readiness, change impact assessment and implementation governance.
- Experience working on transformation programmes with multiple workstreams and senior stakeholder groups.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex processes and requirements for varied audiences.
- Commercially minded and delivery-focused, with a pragmatic approach to project constraints and priorities.
- Confident influencing stakeholders and challenging assumptions where appropriate.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities across workstreams.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and bringing structure to early-stage transformation activity.
