Location: Manchester (Predominantly Remote)
Rate: Up to £600 per day
Contract: Outside IR35
Duration: Initial 6 months with extension potential

I'm seeking an experienced contract Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to join a high-performing technology team delivering large-scale digital products. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys driving engineering excellence while remaining actively involved in architecture, development, and delivery.

Working within a modern cloud-native environment, you'll play a key role in shaping technical direction, mentoring engineers, and delivering scalable solutions that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable full-stack applications
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams
• Drive best practices across architecture, code quality, testing, and deployment
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders
• Support delivery of cloud-native solutions within AWS
• Contribute to technical decision-making and long-term platform strategy

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience as a Lead or Senior Full Stack Engineer
• Expert-level TypeScript development experience
• Strong backend development experience using Node.js
• Proven experience designing and building solutions within AWS
• Experience with modern software engineering practices, CI/CD, and cloud-native architectures
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience delivering e-commerce or digital retail platforms
• Experience working within agile product teams
• Exposure to high-traffic, customer-facing applications
