Data Business Analyst
£475 per day (Outside IR35) with flexibility for exceptional experience
Hybrid Working - 1 Day per Week in Central London

We are supporting a major enterprise transformation programme and are seeking an experienced Data Business Analyst to join the Finance and Customer workstreams.
This role sits at the heart of a large-scale data and reporting transformation, acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, programme delivery teams and BAU operations. The successful contractor will have proven experience delivering within transformation programmes and ensuring solutions, reporting frameworks and business processes are successfully embedded into day-to-day operations.
We would also welcome applications from individuals who have operated in a hybrid Business Analyst / Product Owner capacity, particularly within complex data, reporting or transformation programmes.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst or hybrid Business Analyst / Product Owner within large-scale transformation programmes.
- Demonstrable experience translating programme outcomes into sustainable BAU processes, reporting frameworks and operational standards.
- Strong SQL skills, with the ability to interrogate data, validate outputs and support detailed analysis.
- Experience gathering and documenting complex business, reporting and data requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across both business and technical teams.
- Experience defining KPIs, reporting standards, business rules and data governance requirements.
- Ability to map requirements back to source systems and understand underlying data structures.
- Experience supporting testing, validation and business sign-off activities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Finance and Customer stakeholders to understand business, reporting and data requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and requirements gathering activities.
- Translate business objectives into clear functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with technical teams to understand source systems, data models and reporting logic.
- Define and document KPI calculations, business rules and reporting standards.
- Support data quality initiatives, validation activities and governance processes.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and business acceptance activities.
- Validate reporting outputs against agreed requirements and business rules.
- Ensure transformation deliverables are successfully transitioned into BAU operations.
- Communicate risks, dependencies and delivery progress to key stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting Finance and/or Customer data workstreams.
- Exposure to reporting, analytics or data warehouse environments.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting tools.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality and reporting standards.
- Experience working within Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.
Contract Details
- £475 per day (Outside IR35) with flexibility for exceptional experience.
- Hybrid working - 1 day per week onsite in Central London.
- Initial contract running until December 2026. Possible extension
