AWS Full-Stack Engineer (Test Automation Focus)

12 months/Fully remote/Outside IR35/£300 per day

Overview
We're hiring an experienced AWS Full-Stack Engineer with a strong focus on test automation and quality engineering to join a high-performing product engineering team.
You'll work in a modern, cloud-native environment supporting large-scale digital platforms, where test-first delivery and automation are central to how software is built and deployed.

What You'll Do:
- Build and deliver features end-to-end using Node.js/TypeScript in an AWS environment
- Champion test-first engineering, ensuring every change is validated through automated tests
- Design, build, and maintain automated testing across the full test pyramid (unit, integration, end-to-end)
- Improve and optimise test coverage, speed, and reliability using modern tooling and AI-assisted workflows
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure high-quality, production-ready releases
- Support live systems, troubleshooting issues and maintaining platform stability
- Manage test data, environments, and feature flag configurations

Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, EventBridge)
- Proven track record in test automation frameworks (eg Jest, API/integration testing, end-to-end testing)
- Deep understanding of test strategy and test pyramid design
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test integration
- Exposure to performance/load testing and test data management
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (desirable)
