Duration: 12 Month contract

Our client is a technology-led consultancy delivering AI-powered digital and data platforms into UK Central Government and Defence environments.

This role sits within an embedded Agile team on a secure programme, focused on developing and scaling AI-driven products, intelligent automation, and data-centric capabilities. You will play a key role in shaping AI solutions from concept through to deployment and ongoing optimisation.

What you'll do

Define and own the AI product strategy and roadmap, aligning AI use cases to mission and business priorities

Identify and prioritise high-impact AI opportunities, including machine learning models, automation, and decision-support tools

Own and manage the AI product backlog, ensuring focus on value-driven outcomes such as model performance, user impact, and scalability

Translate business problems into AI use cases, defining data needs, model approaches, success metrics, and risks

Work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to guide the development, evaluation, and deployment of AI models

Ensure AI products are usable, explainable, and trusted, incorporating user feedback and adoption considerations

Define and track product success metrics such as model accuracy, business impact, user adoption, and operational efficiency

Lead stakeholder engagement to communicate AI capabilities, limitations, and trade-offs clearly to non-technical audiences

Drive continuous improvement through model monitoring, retraining strategies, and feedback loops

Champion responsible AI practices, including governance, bias mitigation, and ethical considerations

Key requirements

Experience as an AI Product Manager, Product Manager (data/AI)

Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and lifecycle including data, modelling, deployment, and monitoring, without needing to code

Proven ability to define and deliver data-driven or AI-enabled products

Experience working in Agile or scaled Agile environments such as SAFe

Strong skills in product strategy, roadmap ownership, and value prioritisation

Ability to translate between business stakeholders and technical AI teams

Experience working in UK Government, Defence, or secure environments

Strong stakeholder engagement, storytelling, and communication skills

Understanding of AI risks, ethics, and governance in regulated environments
