AI Engineer at SR2 - Socially Responsible Recruitment, London, to £650 per day

AI Engineer | Contract | Outside IR35 | Hybrid

We're working with a HealthTech start-up that's using AI to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing healthcare today. They've already built a product that's gaining real traction across the healthcare sector, and now they're looking for an experienced AI Engineer to help scale their AI capabilities and take cutting-edge solutions from proof of concept into production.

You'll be joining a small, high-performing engineering team where you'll have genuine influence over the AI roadmap, architecture, and product direction.

Key responsibilities

• Building and deploying production-grade AI applications
• Developing LLM-powered products, AI agents and RAG pipelines
• Designing scalable AI infrastructure and model-serving solutions
• Evaluating and optimising model performance
• Driving best practice across AI engineering, MLOps and deployment
• Helping shape the future of AI within a rapidly growing business

Essential

• A strong Python background
• Experience building and deploying machine learning models in production
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and GenAI technologies
• Experience with RAG architectures, vector databases and agentic workflows
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Experience with modern MLOps practices and tooling
