Overview

We are looking for an exceptional Principal Product Designer to join an exciting organisation building a large-scale digital platform from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity for a highly skilled designer to define the visual identity, interaction patterns, and design standards of a greenfield product ecosystem. Working closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams, you will lead the creation of polished, high-quality interfaces and establish the foundations of a scalable design system. The ideal candidate will have exceptional UI and interaction design skills, a strong portfolio of shipped digital products, and a passion for creating elegant, intuitive user experiences at scale.

Role & Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the visual design language and interaction patterns across a suite of digital products
• Produce high-fidelity UI designs, prototypes, and detailed design specifications ready for engineering implementation
• Lead the creation and ongoing development of a scalable design system, including components, patterns, tokens, and documentation
• Drive consistency, accessibility, and design quality across all user-facing experiences
• Work closely with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and a high standard of visual execution
• Translate complex business and technical requirements into simple, intuitive, and engaging interfaces
• Establish best practices for UI design, interaction design, and design system governance across the organisation

Essential Skills & Experience

• Significant experience as a Product Designer, UI Designer, Interaction Designer, or Design Systems Designer delivering complex digital products
• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional UI design, interaction design, visual design craft, and design systems expertise
• Proven experience creating and scaling design systems, component libraries, and reusable design patterns
• Advanced proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards, responsive design, and front-end implementation considerations
• Experience working closely with engineering teams throughout delivery and implementation
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence design decisions across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience defining visual design standards and design system strategy within greenfield environments
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks to support effective collaboration with engineers
• Experience designing for enterprise-scale platforms and complex workflows
• Background working within regulated, government, or highly governed environments
• Experience contributing to product strategy while remaining deeply hands-on in design delivery
