Technical Architect - Outside IR35 - Umbraco | Public Sector | GDS | AI at Tecknuovo Ltd, London, £600 per day

Tecknuovo is a deliberately different digital consultancy, delivering secure, modern solutions while upskilling client teams to ensure zero long-term dependency. We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to support a large-scale public sector digital transformation programme.

This role will focus on the architecture and delivery of a modern digital platform centred around Umbraco CMS, API-led integrations, website migration, and emerging AI capabilities. The successful candidate will have experience designing and delivering solutions aligned to GOV.UK and GDS standards, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to create scalable, user-centred digital services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical architecture for a public sector digital platform
• Define and govern solution architecture across Umbraco, APIs, integrations, and cloud services
• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable API-led architectures
• Support website migration and platform modernisation initiatives
• Ensure solutions align with GOV.UK Service Standards and GDS best practices
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across the programme
• Evaluate and support the implementation of AI-powered solutions

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a Technical Architect or Solutions Architect
• Strong experience with Umbraco CMS
• Extensive API and integration architecture experience
• Experience delivering solutions within UK Public Sector or GDS-aligned environments
• Website migration and digital transformation experience
• Strong understanding of Azure and Microsoft technology stacks
• Experience defining secure, scalable, cloud-native architectures

Desirable Skills

• Experience implementing AI solutions
• Knowledge of headless CMS and composable architecture patterns
• Experience working on large-scale citizen-facing digital services

Location: London (ad-hoc)

Contract: Initial August 2026

Rate: £600 per day (Outside IR35)
