IT Infrastructure Specialist/Engineer – 6 Month Contract

Location: London (2–3 days per week onsite)

Rate: £400–£475pd Outside IR35

We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to support a business-critical infrastructure estate, providing hands-on technical support across Windows, VMware, networking and hybrid environments.

This is a 6-month contract role for someone comfortable working onsite in London 2–3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support across IT infrastructure services
• Manage and maintain Windows infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS and DHCP
• Support VMware vSphere/ESXi environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents and problems
• Support infrastructure changes, maintenance activities and upgrades
• Assist with security remediation, vulnerability fixes and patching activity
• Work across networking technologies including switching, firewalls and wireless environments
• Create and maintain technical documentation, processes and infrastructure standards

Essential Experience:

• Strong Windows infrastructure skills
• Experience supporting VMware environments
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals
• Experience working within enterprise infrastructure environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable supporting BAU operations and maintenance activity

Desirable:

• Azure / hybrid cloud exposure
• Microsoft 365 / Azure AD experience
• PowerShell or scripting experience
• Experience with vulnerability remediation and security best practices
• Vendor management or project delivery experience
