Technical SEO Lead at Fruition Group, United Kingdom, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

Technical SEO Lead

6 Month Contract - Outside IR35

Remote, UK

A contract opportunity for an experienced Technical SEO Lead to own search strategy for a fast-growing B2B business, spanning traditional organic search and the rapidly evolving world of AI-driven discovery (AEO). The Technical SEO Lead will have genuine ownership of how the business shows up across Google, Google SGE, ChatGPT, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, going well beyond standard audits and on-page fixes.

The Technical SEO Lead will combine hands-on technical execution with strategic influence, setting the SEO and AEO roadmap, defining quarterly goals and KPIs, and working closely with developers and content teams to embed best practice into every build. This is a role for someone who wants to shape direction rather than just follow it, with the autonomy to test, experiment and lead on emerging AI search techniques.

The role also has a strong content-enablement angle. The Technical SEO Lead will help shape how content performs in AI-generated answers, monitor how the business surfaces across generative engines, and equip marketing and content teams with frameworks and workflows to optimise more independently over time.

Technical SEO Lead – Key Requirements:

  • B2B experience essential, SaaS highly desirable
  • Strong technical SEO background across audits, crawlability, indexing and site performance
  • Solid understanding of AEO and how content is surfaced and evaluated by generative AI engines
  • Experience implementing schema, structured data and conversational formats to improve AEO visibility
  • Comfortable working closely with developers to translate SEO/AEO recommendations into shipped improvements
  • Strong communication skills, with confidence to set direction and influence stakeholders independently

This Technical SEO Lead contract offers genuine scope to shape AI-era search and AEO strategy for a fast-growing B2B business.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, or age.
