Contract - up to £400 per day (Outside IR35)

• London (3 days per week onsite)

We are seeking an experienced Functional Test Analyst with strong Payments industry expertise to support a major programme of work within a regulated financial services environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a testing professional with proven experience across UK and European payment schemes who can quickly integrate into an established delivery team and contribute from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop functional test scenarios and test scripts aligned to business requirements, features, and user stories.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and key stakeholders to define and validate test coverage.

Create and maintain manual test scripts within Jira and Zephyr.

Identify, prepare, and document test data requirements.

Define and validate test prerequisites, dependencies, and readiness criteria.

Maintain traceability between requirements, test scenarios, and test scripts.

Perform quality assurance checks against agreed acceptance criteria and Definition of Done requirements.

Produce status reporting, risk assessments, and progress updates through established governance channels.

Support programme delivery through effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

Essential Experience

Demonstrable experience in Functional Testing within Financial Services.

Strong Knowledge Of Payment Systems And Schemes, Including

Faster Payments

BACS

CHAPS

SEPA

Experience creating and executing manual test scenarios and test scripts.

Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.

Proven experience using Jira and Zephyr.

Ability to work independently and manage testing deliverables to agreed timelines.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Payments testing experience is essential.

Experience working within large-scale transformation or migration programmes.

Knowledge of regulatory and governance requirements within financial services environments.

Previous experience supporting audit and testing assurance activities.
