Solution Architect – Identity, Access Management & Portal Integration

Day Rate: £575 per day (Outside IR35)
Location: Hybrid – (London office only for important meetings or workshops)
Contract: Initial 3-Month Contract with Quarterly Renewals
Duration: Long-Term Programme (12+ Months Expected)
Start Date: ASAP / Target Start 6th July

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a major digital transformation programme focused on modernising and unifying customer-facing digital services.

Working as a Solutions Architect you will play a key role within the one portal workstream, which aims to bring together multiple customer portals into a seamless, unified experience. The initial focus will be on Single Sign-On (SSO), Identity Management, and User Access Management, with a strategic roadmap to consolidate additional customer-facing functionality into a single portal platform.

This is a highly visible programme with strong executive sponsorship, secured funding, and a long-term delivery horizon, making it an excellent opportunity for a Solution Architect seeking a strategic engagement with significant impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and deliver solution architecture for a unified customer portal ecosystem.
  • Design and implement front-end system integration strategies across multiple platforms.
  • Lead architecture decisions relating to Identity and Access Management (IAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), and federation services.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and design teams to establish scalable architectural patterns.
  • Produce high-quality architecture documentation, technical specifications, and design artefacts.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across multiple delivery teams.
  • Support stakeholder workshops and architecture reviews.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and strategic objectives.
Essential Experience
  • Proven experience working as a Solution Architect within large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Front-end system integration
    • Identity Management and Federation
    • User Access Management (UAM)
    • Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions
    • Customer portals and digital platform architecture
  • Experience designing user-centric portal architectures and digital experiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent technical documentation and architecture writing capabilities.
  • Experience working across multiple delivery teams in Agile environments.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience within large enterprise or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of modern customer identity platforms and authentication technologies.
  • Experience supporting product discovery, design workshops, and customer journey initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and cloud-based architectures.
