Platform Security Engineer 

📍 Location: Mostly remote with occasional travel to London
💷 Rate: Up to £650 per day (Outside IR35)
📅 Contract: Initial 3 months with strong extension potential
🔒 Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Platform Security Engineer to join a high-profile Central Government AI programme, supporting the security, resilience and ongoing enhancement of a cloud-based platform.

Working within an agile delivery team, you'll help strengthen the security posture of the platform while improving deployment processes, infrastructure automation and operational visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance the security and resilience of Azure-hosted platforms.
• Improve infrastructure configuration and platform hardening.
• Support the implementation of secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Increase platform observability, monitoring and operational performance.
• Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to embed security best practice throughout the development lifecycle.

Essential experience

• Strong DevOps or Platform Engineering background.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including App Services, Azure PostgreSQL, Storage Accounts (Blob Storage) and Azure Container Registry (ACR).
• Experience writing and maintaining Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions / GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of cloud security principles and secure platform engineering.
• Active SC Clearance.
