About the role

You’ll own the technical architecture for the foundational phase. You’ll define the target architecture, data model, integration approach and non-functional requirements, and run targeted proofs-of-concept that give the build a solid, evidenced footing.

Key responsibilities

  • Define the target architecture and technology stack for the system
  • Design the first-phase data model — structured, queryable and built to extend as the system grows
  • Define the integration approach across CRM (HubSpot), finance (Xero) and the manufacturing platform
  • Specify non-functional requirements covering security, resilience, backup and performance
  • Design and run technical spikes and proofs-of-concept (API behaviour and version-locking, platform fit, configurator and bill-of-materials generation)
  • Author the technical specification for the first build phase and outline the architecture for the phases ahead
  • Design the foundation so future capability such as rendering automation and AI-assisted design can be added cleanly later
  • Collaborate closely with the product manager and manufacturing / ERP SME

Essential skills and experience

  • Solution and technical architecture across integrated business systems (CRM, ERP and finance)
  • Strong data modelling
  • Integration architecture and API design (REST, webhooks, versioning)
  • Open-source delivery stack such as Node.js, Python, React and PostgreSQL
  • Architecting CPQ, configurator or bill-of-materials-driven systems
  • Designing and delivering proofs-of-concept to validate technical approach

  • Writing clear, build-ready technical specifications

Desirable skills and experience

  • Manufacturing and ERP platforms such as Katana, Odoo or MRPEasy
  • HubSpot and Xero APIs
  • Architecting for phased, agile delivery
