Data Engineer | Talend | Oracle / DataStage | Remote | Outside IR35 | £400 - £450 per day

Peaple Talent have partnered with a consultancy who are delivering a key data transformation engagement into one of their global enterprise clients.

They’re looking for a Date Engineer to support the refactoring, stabilisation, and optimisation of business-critical data pipelines across a Talend and Oracle/DataStage environment.

This is a hands-on technical role, but one that also needs someone comfortable operating in a consultancy-led delivery model. You’ll be working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and client-side decision makers to assess existing ETL workflows, identify areas of technical debt, and help shape practical improvements that improve performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

The role will involve:

• Refactoring and stabilising existing Talend ETL/data integration pipelines
• Working across Oracle and DataStage environments, with a focus on improving resilience and performance
• Identifying pipeline failures, bottlenecks, and areas of technical debt across legacy workflows
• Supporting stakeholder conversations, translating technical issues into clear recommendations and delivery plans
• Helping with testing, documentation, deployment, and handover of improved data processes

We’re looking for someone with strong Talend experience, good Oracle/SQL knowledge, and ideally previous exposure to DataStage or similar enterprise ETL platforms.

Consultancy experience would be a strong plus, but the key thing is being comfortable working with senior stakeholders in a complex client environment.
