A well known university in London is looking to recruit a Project Manager on a contract basis to start ASAP for an initial 6 month contract paying up to £650/day outside IR35. This will be to work on the SRS programme and requires experience of having worked on a student record system programme (SITS, Banner or Tech One).
The role is to start ASAP and requires 1 day on site per week minimim.
Key duties and responsibilities -
- Lead teams in the development and coordination of analysis and design documentation, including business rules, reference data, and high- and low-level design artefacts
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external suppliers, promoting a collaborative "one team" approach across all areas of delivery
- Manage SME and BA resources to ensure deliverables are achieved on schedule, workloads are effectively prioritised, team members are appropriately supported, and delivery momentum is maintained within demanding programme timelines
- Collaborate with the Tech Lead and Scrum Master to estimate, prioritise, and schedule build activities
- Maintain oversight across capabilities to ensure alignment of resources, processes, dependencies, and delivery activity
- Represent capabilities and present build items for review and approval through the weekly Design Advisory Group and Solution Design Authority forums
- Present updates to wider stakeholder groups through town halls, workshops, and institutional engagement sessions across the university; championing the new SRS and business, technical, process, and data-related change
- Prepare slides for the six-weekly Programme Board and present updates to the fortnightly Delivery Group
- Maintain the Smartsheet programme plan, ensuring capability deliverables are tracked and updated on a weekly basis, while coordinating with wider programme teams to incorporate technical, change, and testing activities; work closely with suppliers to ensure alignment across delivery plans
- Produce weekly Smartsheet report, including progress updates, risks, issues, dependencies, and RAG status reporting, and communicate updates during weekly programme calls
- The programme follows an "adopt not adapt" methodology, prioritising business change over customisation, and ensuring this model is followed and encouraged is critical to the role
- Support the development of a community of practice with other Banner SaaS user institutions
