Senior Android Developer - Outside IR35 - Contract - SC ESSENTIAL

A rare opportunity to join our fast-growing technology consultancy selling high-value software development services. You will be working within a Government department as part of an existing team to support the rollout of a new public-facing service.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop advanced applications for the Android platform in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Work with outside data sources and APIs
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is of high quality
• Ensure that the applications are secure and follow best practices for data protection

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of the Kotlin programming language
• Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON
• Experience with Git version control system
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Desirable – at least 5 years of experience in developing Android applications
• SC clearance is mandatory

£600 - £625 per day outside IR35
