🛒 Oracle Xstore Technical Analyst / Consultant Retail POS Implementation

📍 UK based, home working with travel

📑 Contract, 6-9 months initial (outside IR35)

We are looking for a hands on Oracle Xstore specialist to support end to end retail POS implementation, customisation and production support across multi country, multi brand store environments. You will move comfortably between configuration, Java development, integration and live operational support, working alongside internal teams and third party vendors.

🔧 What you will be doing

⚙️ Implement, configure and customise Oracle Xstore POS across multi country store estates

🏪 Support new store rollouts, POS deployments, environment setup and go live validation

⬆️ Lead Xstore version upgrades, including codebase migration and file merge across Java classes, XML config and custom components

🔗 Develop and maintain integrations across OMS, payments, order shipping, customer queue and inventory systems

🚨 Manage critical production incidents, severity 1 escalations and root cause analysis in high availability environments

🔍 Perform SQL and XML troubleshooting, configuration, data validation and continuous improvement

✅ Provide SIT and UAT support, defect resolution, unit testing and production bug fixes

🤝 Collaborate with Product Owners, cross platform teams and vendors on requirements, story creation and SLA compliance

👥 Provide technical guidance, code reviews and mentoring to junior developers where needed

🎯 What you will bring

💡 Extensive hands on Oracle Xstore POS experience across multiple versions (to v25)

🧩 Working knowledge of ORPOS, Xadmin, Xmobile, Xenvironment, Xcenter, Locate and Relate

📦 Proven delivery of end to end Xstore implementation, upgrade and customisation projects

💳 Payments experience across providers such as Adyen, Verifone Point, EFTlink, SVS, gift cards and credit cards

☕ Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, microservices, REST and SOAP APIs, XML

🗄️ Oracle and SQL Server databases, with strong SQL troubleshooting and data validation

🛠️ CI/CD and DevOps exposure: Jenkins, Git, SVN, AWS (EC2, CloudWatch), JIRA

🏃 Agile/Scrum delivery, sprint planning and backlog refinement

📞 Strong incident, escalation and vendor management in live retail operations
