Mission Systems Architect - Contract Opportunity

• UK-based role
• SC clearance preferred
• Primarily remote, with occasional deployment/travel flexibility
• Initial 12-month contract, with potential extensions up to a further 2 years

Fortice are looking for a Mission Systems Architect to help shape and deliver AI-enabled operational systems across secure environments.

The role sits across architecture, technical delivery, operational coordination, and customer engagement. You'll be working closely with engineering teams and end users to turn evolving operational requirements into practical, deployable capability.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and guiding technical architecture for mission-focused systems
• Supporting deployments, operational planning, and delivery coordination
• Working directly with customers to understand and refine requirements as priorities evolve
• Collaborating with teams across AI, infrastructure, applications, and deployment engineering
• Helping shape workflows, interfaces, and early-stage prototypes
• Supporting demos, workshops, and technical discussions with stakeholders
• Identifying delivery risks and helping coordinate deployment activity
• Producing architecture documentation, delivery plans, and technical artefacts
• Supporting deployments across cloud, on-prem, and air-gapped environments

What we're looking for

• Strong experience across solution architecture and technical delivery
• Background working within defence, secure, or operational environments
• Comfortable engaging with customers and technical stakeholders
• Understanding of AI-enabled systems, Linux infrastructure, and deployment challenges
• Able to operate effectively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
• Strong problem-solving, organisation, and systems-thinking skills
