Portfolio/PMO Lead - North West - £Negotiable (Outside IR35)

We are currently recruiting for a Portfolio/PMO Lead on an initial contract for one of Harvey Nash 's key clients based in the North-West. The role will sit within the Technology transformation function, overseeing portfolio governance, delivery standards, and reporting across a complex programme landscape.

The role will be responsible for leading the PMO function, ensuring effective governance, reporting, and delivery oversight across multiple programmes and projects.

This role is Outside IR35 for an initial 3 Months with the likelihood to extend. The role is hybrid working with onsite expectations of around 2 days.

Portfolio/PMO Lead - What will you be tasked with?

• Leading and maturing the PMO/Portfolio function across a broad delivery landscape
• Establishing and embedding portfolio governance, frameworks, and best practice
• Providing oversight of programme and project delivery, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives
• Managing portfolio reporting, including RAID logs, financial tracking, and executive dashboards
• Stakeholder management across senior leadership, ensuring clear communication and visibility
• Supporting prioritisation, resource planning, and capacity management across the portfolio
• Identifying risks and dependencies and working with delivery teams to mitigate them

Portfolio/PMO Lead - Essential Experience required:

• Strong experience operating as a PMO Lead / Portfolio Lead within complex organisations
• Proven track record of setting up or transforming PMO functions and governance frameworks
• Experience managing large-scale portfolios across multiple concurrent programmes
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly at senior/board level
• Experience with portfolio reporting (ideally JIRA), financial management, and planning
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a focus on clarity and structure
