A leading engineering delivery partner has secured a major framework to deliver critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the region. We are seeking experienced Design Managers to join project-based teams, overseeing the design and engineering aspects of schemes ranging from treatment works and pumping stations to reservoirs.
This is a contract position and can be outside ir35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process from initial definition of need through to detailed design and construction support.
- Manage multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring designs are safe, sustainable, cost-efficient, and technically compliant.
- Collaborate with clients, construction teams, and supply chains to promote buildability and efficiency.
- Monitor design budgets, forecast costs, and control design changes.
- Deliver project outputs on time, within budget, and in line with governance procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Academically qualified MEICA design engineer (Chartered preferred).
- Proven experience managing design quality and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong delivery track record against programme, budget, and quality requirements.
- Understanding of CDM regulations and construction responsibilities.
- Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant management/apprenticeship with industry experience.
- Chartered status (MICE/IMechE/MCIOB) desirable.
- Project Management or Risk Management training advantageous.
