DevOps Engineer – Azure


Contract | Outside IR35 | £450 per day | Fully Remote


We are currently working with a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) looking to engage an experienced DevOps Engineer on an initial 3-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

This role is fully remote and will focus on delivering secure, scalable, and automated Azure infrastructure solutions across a variety of customer environments.


Role Responsibilities

  • Deploy and configure Microsoft Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for customer deployments and ongoing platform delivery
  • Take technical ownership of project delivery across multiple customer engagements
  • Align Azure deployments with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework best practices
  • Develop reusable templates and deployment standards aligned to Enterprise Scale Landing Zones
  • Implement secure, governed cloud environments following industry security standards and zero-trust principles
  • Support optimisation and automation of future cloud deployments
  • Work closely with internal delivery teams and customer stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes


Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Excellent Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Terraform
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking principles
  • Experience working within DevOps-focused project delivery environments
  • Knowledge of cloud governance, security, and best practice frameworks
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments (2016 / 2019 / 2022)


Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Bicep
  • Exposure to additional cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Oracle Cloud
  • Experience with automation/configuration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Knowledge of PaaS and third-party firewall technologies
  • Familiarity with NIST, ISO27001, CIS controls, and zero-trust security principles


Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (desirable)
