Data Platform Engineer (Contract) – Azure / Databricks
Location: Manchester city centre
Working pattern: Minimum 2 days per week in office
Contract: 3 months - Outside IR35
Day rate: Competitive
We’re looking for an experienced Data Platform Engineer to help build and support a modern Azure data platform environment, enabling scalable and secure data products across the business.
Key requirements:
• Strong hands-on Azure Databricks Platform Administration experience
• Experience working with Data Mesh / Data Product Mesh architecture
• Strong Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) experience
• Experience building reusable platform components and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of Unity Catalog, governance, RBAC and platform security
• Experience improving platform reliability, scalability and developer experience
Desirable:
• Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs)
• Azure DevOps, MLflow and MLOps exposure
This role will focus on building scalable platform capabilities, enabling domain-led data products, and driving best practice across a modern data ecosystem.
