The Role

A contract Data & Analytics Business Analyst is required to support a fast-moving AI cybersecurity business in translating complex analytical needs into clear, structured requirements. The role sits between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that data and analytics outputs are meaningful, accurate, and tied to real security and commercial objectives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Engaging with stakeholders across security operations, product, and commercial functions to capture and refine analytics requirements
  • Translating cybersecurity business problems threat detection performance, incident trends, model efficacy, customer risk metrics into structured user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Managing and prioritising an analytics backlog aligned to product and operational priorities
  • Defining KPIs and metrics relevant to an AI-driven security environment detection rates, false positive ratios, response times, coverage gaps, model performance indicators
  • Working closely with data engineers and analysts to ensure requirements are clearly understood and technically deliverable
  • Supporting UAT and validation of analytical outputs, ensuring they accurately reflect the underlying security data and logic
  • Identifying gaps in data availability or quality that may limit analytical or reporting capability
  • Helping the business move toward more consistent, data-driven decision making across security and commercial operations

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a data or analytics context
  • Background in or strong working knowledge of cybersecurity you need to understand the domain well enough to challenge requirements and ask the right questions
  • Familiarity with AI or ML-driven products comfortable discussing model outputs, confidence scores, detection logic and similar concepts at a business level
  • Experience defining security-relevant KPIs and metrics (threat coverage, detection accuracy, incident volume, SLA adherence etc.)
  • Strong stakeholder management able to work across technical security teams and non-technical commercial or executive stakeholders
  • Comfortable with common BI and analytics tooling; able to articulate requirements without needing to build yourself
  • Able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, technical environment with minimal ramp-up time
