Job Title: Power BI Analyst/Visualisation Specialist
Rate: £300 to £400p/d Outside IR35
Length: 3 Months
Reporting To: Senior ICT Manager/Head of Service ICT
Location: Hybrid Working - Office Location when required

Job Purpose:We need a Power BI Data Analyst/Visualisation Specialist to deliver high-quality performance reporting and analytical insight.
The right candidate will design, develop and maintain clear dashboards for senior leaders, commissioners and operational managers, providing timely insight into placement activity, demand, performance and outcomes across the region. The candidate will also act as Data Champion, promoting best practice in analytics and visualisation.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
Performance Reporting & Analytics

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for performance monitoring.
• Translate multi-authority datasets into clear insight for senior management, directors and project boards.
• Analyse referral activity, placement demand, provider responses, outcomes, timeliness and trends
• Agree KPIs and reporting requirements with stakeholders with tangible data analytics.

Data Modelling & Engineering

• Extract, transform and model data from related sources (CSV feeds, APIs and SQL databases).
• Build reusable semantic data models and ensure data quality, consistency and integrity across reporting assets.
• Write and optimise SQL and DAX to deliver advanced analytical requirements.

Power BI Development & Visualisation

• Design accessible, insight-led dashboards using Power BI best practice.
• Use appropriate visuals and interactivity (slicers, drill-through, filters and date intelligence) to highlight trends, variances and exceptions.
• Manage workspaces, datasets and refresh schedules, with appropriate access controls.
• Use data and visualisation to forecast placement trends over periods of time

Data Champion & Regional Leadership

• Act as Data Champion, promoting good data practice and analytical maturity.
• Represent the organisation in data champion forums, supporting shared standards and aligned reporting definitions across partners.
• Provide guidance and informal mentoring on Power BI, data interpretation and analytical approaches across colleagues.
• Attend meetings as and when required to discuss and elaborate on data reporting and trend analytics

Governance, Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Work within information governance, data protection and security frameworks.
• Support DPIA, data-sharing and assurance processes, and document data models/measures to maintain transparency and auditability.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, automation and reporting efficiency
