Interim FP&A Lead
Contract Type: Interim (4–6 months) / Permanent considered
Location: Reading – 3–4 days onsite

Day Rate: £450-£550pd Outside IR35 (flexible depending on experience)
A PE-backed healthcare business is seeking an experienced FP&A professional to support a critical turnaround and transformation phase.
The company operates a growing portfolio of healthcare facilities and is scaling rapidly through acquisition. Working closely with the Interim Finance Director, CEO, and Private Equity stakeholders, this role will be instrumental in building financial reporting, consolidation, and insight capabilities from the ground up. This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on FP&A leader who can operate autonomously, bring structure to complexity, and deliver immediate value in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and implement consolidated financial reporting from scratch across a multi-entity structure
- Develop a centralised data model (Excel-based or similar) integrating data from core systems (including Sage 200)
- Create robust reporting packs for banks and investors, aligned to PE requirements and templates
- Establish monthly management reporting processes, moving away from limited annual reporting
- Partner with management accountants to enable effective business partnering across individual care homes
- Develop KPI frameworks relevant to the care / healthcare sector, including operational and staffing metrics
- Support the business in meeting lender requirements, enabling access to acquisition financing
- Improve overall financial visibility, accuracy, and decision-making capability across the organisation
To Be Suitable
- Proven FP&A experience within complex, multi-entity businesses
- Track record of building reporting, forecasting, and consolidation processes from scratch
- Strong systems and data capability (Excel essential; exposure to Power BI advantageous)
- Ability to operate independently and deliver in an unstructured, turnaround environment
- Experience working with Private Equity stakeholders and lender reporting requirements
- Healthcare is experience highly desirable
- Comfortable working at pace, with strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills
- Immediately available or able to start at short notice
This role offers the opportunity to play a key role in stabilising and transforming the finance function of a PE-backed business at a pivotal stage, with clear visibility to investors and senior leadership.
