We 're looking for a freelance Java Engineer to join a long-term project building scalable, cloud-native platforms within the Financial Services Payment industry. This role is outside IR35, fully remote (UK only), with occasional site visits in Farnborough or Hammersmith.

This isn 't a role for task-takers - we want someone who thinks like an engineer, takes ownership, and thrives in a proactive, collaborative environment.

Tech Stack & Skills

✓ Java (Spring Boot, Microservices)
✓ AWS (Java Spark, EMR, Lambda, native AWS DBs)
✓ Kubernetes & EKS
✓ Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure & distributed systems
✓ Vocal, self-driven, takes ownership end-to-end

Payments or FinTech experience
AWS Glue or other large-scale data processing tools
Event-driven architecture
