As part of this programme, we are looking for an experienced Data Migration Lead to take end‑to‑end ownership of data migration activities that enable the separation of systems and the transition to a secure, compliant and operationally stable standalone environment.

This is a highly visible role within a critical transformation programme, requiring strong leadership, stakeholder coordination and proven delivery in complex migration scenarios.

Role Purpose

The Data Migration Lead will be accountable for defining, coordinating and delivering all data migration activities required to support:

  • IT separation and system stand‑up
  • Transformation and platform change
  • Cutover and transition to Business as Usual
  • Exit from Transitional Service Agreements (TSAs)

You will own the outcomes, approach and delivery of the data migration workstream, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and full auditability of outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and catalogue in‑scope datasets across applications, platforms and storage environments
  • Define migration waves, sequencing, dependencies and decision points

Design & Readiness

  • Define source‑to‑target mappings, data selection rules and retention policies
  • Ensure all migrations meet security, privacy and compliance requirements

Execution & Coordination

  • Plan and manage multiple migration cycles (test, UAT, rehearsal and production)
  • Coordinate delivery across internal IT teams, business stakeholders and third‑party suppliers
  • Track and actively manage risks, issues, assumptions and interdependencies

Testing, Cutover & Handover

  • Oversee data validation, reconciliation and business sign‑off
  • Support cutover rehearsals and contribute to Go / No‑Go decision forums
  • Produce handover documentation and support transition into BAU operations and TSA exit

Key Deliverables

  • Approved Data Migration Strategy and Integrated Migration Plan
  • In‑scope Data Inventory and Migration Wave Schedule
  • Source‑to‑Target Mapping and Migration Design Artefacts
  • Successful completion of agreed test, rehearsal and production migrations
  • Data validation and reconciliation sign‑off for each migration wave
  • Cutover readiness inputs for IT and business decision‑making
  • Operational handover pack, including runbooks, residual risks and issues log
  • TSA Exit Evidence Pack demonstrating completion of data migration obligations

Experience Required

  • Proven experience leading data migrations within IT carve‑outs, separations or divestments
  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems, data platforms and integration landscapes
  • Experience managing migrations involving TSAs, regulatory constraints and audit requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across IT, business and external suppliers
  • Comfortable operating with high autonomy in fast‑moving programme environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience in regulated or security‑sensitive environments
  • Background in financial, professional services, cyber, or technology‑led organisations
  • Familiarity with cloud migrations and modern data platforms
