Project Manager - Global Investment Firm - AI/Automation – £530 - £575 per day - outside IR35 - 12 month contract

A leading global investment firm, operating across private equity and credit and backing high-growth businesses worldwide, is seeking a Contract Project Manager. With technology and transformation high on the agenda, the business is looking for someone to deliver a range of high-visibility SaaS and internally developed tool implementations across core business functions, while also helping identify where AI and process automation can add value.

The Contract Project Manager’s role: This is a high-impact contract sitting within the central change team, focused on delivering multiple concurrent initiatives across the private equity and credit sides of the business. Rather than one large programme, this role is about owning several smaller but important workstreams end-to-end - from shaping scope and aligning stakeholders, through vendor selection, implementation, UAT and go-live. The environment needs someone commercially aware, technically credible, and comfortable operating with pace across both business and technology teams.

Project Manager Key Responsibilities:

• Multi-Workstream Delivery: Lead several concurrent SaaS and internally developed tool roll-outs across private equity and credit teams, managing delivery from initiation through to post-implementation review.
• Project Definition: Set objectives, scope, success criteria and business value for each initiative, ensuring alignment across sponsors and stakeholders.
• Requirements & Translation: Gather, challenge and document business requirements, turning them into clear functional and technical deliverables for internal teams and external vendors.
• Vendor Management: Manage third-party suppliers through evaluation, commercials, SOW discussions, implementation, UAT, go-live and hypercare.
• Technical Delivery Oversight: Work closely with internal technical teams on integrations, APIs, data flows and implementation dependencies.
• Governance & Control: Track plans, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies, escalating early where timelines or delivery quality are at risk.
• Stakeholder Communication: Produce clear sponsor updates, steering content and working group materials suitable for a senior private markets audience.
• AI & Automation Focus: Spot opportunities to embed AI-enabled capability and process automation into delivered solutions, while also bringing practical understanding of AI tools in day-to-day project delivery.

Project Manager Requirements:

• Strong Delivery Background: Proven project management experience within financial services, ideally private equity, private credit, alternative assets, investment management or closely related environments.
• SaaS Implementation Experience: Demonstrable experience delivering end-to-end SaaS implementations, including vendor engagement, rollout, testing and adoption.
• Technical Credibility: Good working understanding of APIs, integrations, cloud/data flows and solution architecture, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Agile / Hybrid Delivery Experience: Comfortable working within AgilePM or hybrid governance structures and managing several moving workstreams at once.
• Commercial Awareness: Able to manage budgets, supplier performance, SOWs and overall project value effectively.
• Communication Skills: Credible with senior stakeholders and able to challenge constructively where needed.
• Practical AI Awareness: Familiar with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot, and able to identify realistic automation and AI use cases in delivery environments.

Day rate: £530 - £575/day

Duration: 12 months

Location: London, 3 days per week in the office
