Azure Cloud Engineer (Snowflake Focus)

Location: Central London (Hybrid) Rate: £500 per day IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Duration: 6 Months (Rolling) Start Date: ASAP

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to provide technical leadership in cloud computing and automation for a leading American Insurance Company based in Central London. This role focuses on deploying infrastructure services for cloud platforms, specifically Snowflake infrastructure on Azure.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure as Code: Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC tools.
• Snowflake Deployment: Lead the deployment and optimization of Snowflake infrastructure on Azure.
• Automation & CI/CD: Build, maintain, and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines to support automated integration and deployment.
• Design Patterns: Develop documented cloud design patterns based on the application portfolio.
• Architecture: Evaluate and implement private, public, and hybrid cloud models (IaaS, PaaS), ensuring solutions are designed for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Operations: Automate deployment, configuration, patching, and upgrades; troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide 24/7 support for critical systems when required.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Cloud Expertise: 5+ years of experience across cloud architecture, network management, and application development.
• Azure Specialist: Proficient in Azure Shell, PowerShell scripting, and general Azure ecosystem management.
• Snowflake Proficiency: Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, security features, data warehousing fundamentals, and resource monitoring.
• DevOps & Tooling: Hands-on experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Scripting: Familiarity with Python, Bash, and Windows/Linux server architectures.
• Communication: Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical options to non-technical audiences.

Contract Details

• Security Clearance: Not required.
• Working Pattern: Hybrid (Central London office / Remote).
• Project Length: Initial 6-month contract with high visibility and likelihood of extension.

Pay: From £500.00 per day
