Contract Description

Role: Interim Head of Technology, Change & Integration

Location: Glasgow (2–3 days onsite)

Duration: 9–12 Month Contract

Rate: Competitive (Outside IR35)

The Opportunity

Chapman Tate Associates are recruiting for an Interim Head of Technology for a bank serving millions of customers, currently undergoing a significant transformation of its technology and delivery landscape. This is a high-impact interim leadership role, reporting into executive level stakeholders and will play a key part in shaping and scaling the organisation’s agile transformation journey.

The Transformation Journey

The organisation is actively moving toward a modern, product-centric, digital-first operating model, with early success already achieved. However, there’s still significant work ahead, including:

  • Scaling agile ways of working across the enterprise
  • Embedding capacity-based planning
  • Establishing agile budgeting
  • Developing Value Management Office (VMO) capability
  • Driving consistent adoption beyond early success areas

The Role

As Interim Head of Technology, Change & Integration, you will:

  • Lead the next phase of agile transformation at scale (SAFe)
  • Drive cultural and mindset change across teams
  • Coach and support teams through adoption challenges
  • Act as a visible, credible transformation leader
  • Operate at a senior programme leadership level, owning delivery outcomes

This is a hands-on leadership role—ideal for someone who thrives on delivering real change rather than just designing it.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience:

  • Proven track record leading large-scale agile transformations (SAFe or similar)
  • Experience scaling agile beyond pilot teams into enterprise-wide adoption
  • Background in complex, regulated environments (financial services highly desirable)
  • Strong programme-level leadership capability

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing ability
  • Ability to bring teams “on the journey,” including resistant stakeholders
  • Hands-on, delivery-focused mindset (not purely strategic)
  • Natural advocate for agile ways of working

This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-visibility transformation role within a complex, purpose-driven financial services organisation. You’ll have the autonomy and influence to shape how agile is scaled across the business and leave a lasting impact.
